Grilled Shrimp Skewers
Grilled Shrimp Skewer Ingredients
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Wooden or metal skewers
How to Grill Shrimp on Skewers
Step 1
Prepare the shrimp: If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 20-30 minutes to prevent burning. This step ensures they don’t catch fire or break apart while grilling.
Step 2
Marinate the shrimp: In a bowl, toss shrimp with olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, paprika, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes to infuse the shrimp with flavor.
Step 3
Skewer the shrimp: Thread shrimp onto skewers, making sure they are evenly spaced for even cooking. Avoid overcrowding the skewers, as this can lead to uneven grilling.
Step 4
Preheat the grill: Set your grill to medium-high heat (375-400°F). Lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking.
Step 5
Grill the shrimp: Place the shrimp skewers on the grill and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until shrimp turn pink and opaque. Avoid overcooking, as shrimp can become rubbery.
Step 6
Remove and garnish: Take the grilled shrimp skewers off the grill and sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving. Squeeze additional lemon juice on top for a burst of freshness.
