Hey, FitFam! You’ve probably found this page looking for some weight loss juice recipes to help you shed those extra pounds. Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered on that below! But before we dive into the recipes, I just want to call out that I’m not a big fan of weight loss juice.
Hear me out…
If you’re adding juices to a well-balanced diet or you’re swapping out the soda and snacks for a veggie-packed juice – YES! Do it now! But if you’re looking for a magic bullet with a juice detox or cleanse, it just doesn’t work that way.
Losing weight through a juice-centralized diet can actually cause you health issues. It’s also unsustainable for long-term weight loss.
More than anything I’m personally invested in your long-term health and well-being, so if you want my two cents, it would be to add juicing to a whole-foods-focused diet and not rely on it solely to drop those pounds.
Still want to drink your meals? I’m a smoothie guy myself. I’d suggest swapping a few meals with a whole-food smoothie that includes all the fiber. Check out my smoothie recipes to get you started.
With that being said, juices are a great addition to a healthy diet!
What to Consider When Choosing Juices for Weight Loss

Not all juices are created equally. To make those juices really count toward your weight loss goals, you gotta be smart about it. Here’s your guide to making sure your juice is truly doing the job:
Sugar Content:
One of the biggest gotchas with weight loss juice is letting that sugar sneak in. Sure, fruits have great vitamins, but they also come with a decent dose of sugar. You still want to be careful even if it’s natural sugars. When you juice fruit instead of eating it you’re losing the fiber that keeps sugar absorption in check – which can spike your blood sugar. So, to keep the juice sugars low, load up on veggies like spinach or cucumbers and keep the fruits to a minimum. Shoot for more greens and less fruit.
Fiber Content:
Fiber is your BFF when it comes to weight loss because it fills you up and helps your gut do its job. But when you juice, you take out all the fiber. This can leave you feeling hungry or getting a sugar crash. Instead of juicing and then tossing the fiber in the trash, you may want to try blending your ingredients into a smoothie or use a juicer that keeps more pulp – it’ll keep you feeling fuller longer.
Preparation Methods:
Fresh is definitely best, no questions about it! When you make your own juice you pick every ingredient. Not so much with the store-bought stuff. Next time you’re at the store, take a look at the back of those juices and you’ll find tons of added sugar and preservatives. Even your green “healthy” juices are often mostly apple juice. Making your juice at home lets you focus on the good stuff and drink it right away to get all those nutrients in their prime.
Ingredients:
We’ve already talked a bit about watching it on the fruit. So what do you put in instead? You want the most nutrient-dense ingredients you can find, like kale, spinach, broccoli, and cauliflower. Really, any veg will do. You can also use herbs, too, like parsley and cilantro. And if you’re having a hard time with the “green” flavor, you can even throw in a bit of lemon or ginger for flavor without the sugar crash.
I use these guides myself to make sure my juices not only taste incredible but also keep my weight in check. Now are you ready for those recipes?
Best Juices to Lose Weight
Alright, y’all, let’s get into some of the best juices for weight loss. These juices are loaded with all the good stuff while still keeping flavor high and sugar low. Here are my top picks to get started with weight loss juice:
Spicy Green Lemonade
Get ready for some heat with this one. Mix up this recipe using kale, green apples or pears, and lemon, and then throw in a pinch of cayenne pepper. You won’t regret it! This juice is a fantastic metabolism kickstart to add a zing to your day.
Green Juice
This juice falls in the most famous weight loss juice category – the green drinks. It’s a great way to enjoy your greens like spinach, kale, and cucumber. It may not be everyone’s favorite flavor, but it’s totally worth it because of the low calories and high nutrients. You can also throw in a bit of lemon or ginger for extra flavor and a nice metabolism boost.
Carrot-Apple Juice
Carrots are great for their high fiber and beta-carotene. And if you’re not ready for the green drink and still need the apple juice for sweetness, this is a great one to start with. I love drinking this for a morning pick-me-up. It’s not in the recipe, but you can also add turmeric for anti-inflammatory benefits.
Beetroot Juice
Beets are a great source of energy and nutrients. I love the beet, carrot, and apple combo with a bit of lemon. These all have a touch of sweetness to them that really makes for a great drink. I like to drink this one for a pre-workout energy boost.
Cucumber-Mint Juice
Cucumbers are really hydrating and low in calories. If you’re not into drinking plain water, this flavor combo is the way to go to keep you sipping throughout the day. The mint and lemon or lime give it a fresh pop. This is a great juice over ice in the summer.
Tropical Green Juice
This is one of those recipes that I like to mix up. I start with this pineapple juice recipe and then I add a bit of coconut water for a tropical twist. If you’re up for the greens, throw in a handful of kale or spinach as well. Pineapple adds the sweetness and gut enzymes, and the greens level up the nutrition.
Tomato-Veggie Juice
Tomato-veg vibe really dials down the sweetness making this juice feel a bit more like a meal replacement than a drink. The toms are loaded in antioxidants. Mix them with celery, spinach, and a dash of hot sauce and you’ve got yourself a perfect lunch or a mid-afternoon snack.
Berry-Ginger Juice
Who doesn’t love berries? They’re low in sugar and high in antioxidants and make a great juice. Pick your favorite mix of strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries and then add some ginger for a zing. This combo is great as an immune system and metabolism booster.
Citrus Juice
Check on the Sunset Citrus Juice blend on this page. Oranges, grapefruits, and lemons will give you a great citrus flavor with all of the vitamin-C you’d want from a citrus juice. This one is great for an immune system boost and gut health. Just go easy on the oranges to keep the sugar levels in check.
Celery Juice
Celery juice is all over the net. And it trends in the weight loss and health worlds for good reason. It’s low in calories and great for your gut. You can drink it straight or mix it with a bit of apple, cucumber, or lime for more flavor.
The Bottom Line
Let me know which of these you try and what you think! But seriously, be smart with weight loss juice.
Remember to add juicing to a balanced diet filled with whole foods and lots of fiber.

FAQs About Juicing for Weight Loss
Is juicing a good way to lose weight?
Juicing is a great way to boost your nutrition with more vitamins and minerals. You can also replace all of your sodas and snacks with healthy juices for a great way to cut back on calories and lose weight. Ideally you should combine juices with a whole-foods diet to make sure you have all the nutrients you need.
How often should I juice for weight loss?
Really it depends. You need to look at your total calories and macro nutrients. If you’re really leaning into the green juices you can add several a day to your meal plan. But make sure you’re still getting adequate fiber and healthy fats in your diet. If you’re not sure what your calorie or macro targets look like, I’ve got you covered.
What should I look for in a weight loss juice?
Weight loss is all about limiting calories, so you need to avoid juices that are high in sugars (calories). You also want to pack a punch with those vitamins and minerals, so look for recipes with low-sugar and nutrient-dense ingredients.
Can juicing help me detox or cleanse my body?
Juicing doesn’t do detoxing, your body does that all on its own. But the right foods can support your body’s natural detox processes. To support your body in this process, drink lots of water and eat or drink whole foods.
Are store-bought juices good for weight loss?
Store-bought juices are often high in sugars, low in nutrients, and have added preservatives. That’s not saying there aren’t great juice options out there, you just need to know what you’re getting. Skip passed all the marketing labels and go straight to the back to know what is in the juice. If you’re not sure what you’re buying or want the extra control, making your own juice at home is a great option.
How can I make juicing a part of a balanced diet?
You don’t have to turn to an all-liquid diet to get the benefits of juicing. Just add healthy juices into your day as an occasional meal replacement or a snack. Don’t ditch the whole foods like lean proteins, whole grains, and healthy fats, but add juices along with them for a balanced diet.
Can juicing cause weight gain?
If you’re drinking tons of sugar – even natural sugars – you can gain weight. Keep the fruits to a minimum and focus on the veg for your weight loss juice.
Are there any risks associated with juicing for weight loss?
Living on juice without carefully calculating the right variety and amount of ingredients can quickly lead to nutrient deficiencies. Juices high in sugars can also cause blood sugar spikes.

Variety is your friend – mix things up with different fruits and veggies, but be sure to focus on low-sugar ingredients. Add herbs and spices for extra flavor without the extra calories. Drink your juices right away to get the most nutrients. And make sure to pair your juices with other whole food options for a balanced diet.
