This is one of my favorite green juices because it is sweet, tangy, and spicy all at once—that’s why I call it spicy green lemonade. While I cannot claim that it will boost your metabolism, what I can promise is that it will give you a “pick-me-up” while also pumping you with fiber to help with digestion.

That said, this juice has a great combo of ingredients known for their potential metabolism-boosting properties. And yes…I know lemonade is usually not green, but the lemon essence (zest) and sour tang are so noteworthy that it’s reminiscent of lemonade.

Green Juice Drink Spicy Ingredients

  • 2 large lemons with rind
  • 1 bunch (~4 cups) kale
  • 1/2 raw jalapeno
    • or more if desired
  • 2 tablespoons raw ginger

How to Make Spicy Green Juice

Step 1

Prepare the Ingredients:

    • Wash all produce thoroughly to remove any dirt or residue. Since the lemons will be juiced with the rind, ensure they are scrubbed well.
Step 2

Chop the Produce:

    • Slice the green apples and pears into quarters.
    • Cut the lemons into halves or quarters, leaving the rind intact.
    • Roughly chop the kale leaves, discarding the tough stems if preferred.
    • Slice the jalapeño into small pieces—start with half a pepper to control the heat.
Step 3

Add Ingredients to Your Juicer:

    • Begin juicing the green apples and pears for a naturally sweet base.
    • Follow with the kale leaves to add a rich green color and an earthy flavor.
    • Juice the lemons, rind included, to infuse tanginess.
