Rosemary Blue Cheese Turkey Sliders

Ingredients for 8 sliders

* Optional Substitution Note

  • Meat
    • 1 1/2 lb 93% lean ground turkey
    • 1 1/2 tablespoons The Fit Cook Everyday Blend
    • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, finely chopped
    • 1/3 cup blue cheese crumble
    • pinch of sea salt & pepper
  • Sliders
    • 8 (wheat) slider buns
    • 2 roma tomatoes, sliced
    • 1 medium cucumber, diagonally sliced
    • 8 tablespoons Dijon mustard
    • 8 Romaine lettuce leaves
  • Quick Caramelized Onions (OPTIONAL)
    • 3 tablespoons olive oil
    • 1 large white onion, sliced
    • pinch of sea salt & peppe

Steps

Step 1

In a bowl, mix together the ingredients for the turkey sliders.   Use an ice cream scoop or 1/4 cup measuring cup to scoop to measure out each slider to keep them uniform.  Alternatively you can measure out  full sized burgers.

Step 2

Set a nonstick skillet on medium heat and once hot, spray with avocado or olive oil, then add the slider patties.  Cook for 4 – 6 minutes on each side, or until the top/bottom are browned and the slider is cooked through.

Step 3

In a carbon steel skillet on medium heat and once hot, add olive oil and onion.  As the onions saute and caramelize, add a pinch of sea salt to draw out sweetness.  If desired, reduce the onions in 1/2 cup of (chicken/veggie/beef) broth, white wine, or water.  Continue cooking until the onions are “wilted,” soft and golden brown, about  15 minutes.

Step 4

Build the sliders! Toast the buns then add Dijon, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, caramelized onions and the burger!
