BBQ Mustard Chicken
Are you tired of the same old fried chicken recipe you’ve been having for years? Can’t go out to restaurants to buy some delicious chicken tenders? Well, this chicken recipe will get you that delicious meal you’ve been craving for. Fire up your grill because it’s time to make some BBQ Honey Mustard Chicken!
Honey and mustard go well, like how salt goes with pepper. For this recipe, you’ll need one pound of chicken breasts (or tenders), but you could always get more if you plan to share it with your family and friends.
For the seasoning, sprinkle your chicken breasts or tenders with some sea salt and freshly ground pepper to your desired taste. You can also skewer your chicken pieces using wooden kebab sticks.
For the honey mustard sauce, put half a cup of mustard in a small bowl. There are many different kinds to choose from, such as Dijon mustard, yellow mustard, and English mustard. This ingredient gives a rich and tangy taste to the sauce.
Next, add in your honey, apple cider vinegar, and smoked paprika. The apple cider vinegar gives a bit of sourness while the smoked paprika gives the sauce a kick and some heat. The natural sweetness of the honey gives it that robust taste that compliments the other ingredients.
Heat your grill and cook the chicken for about 10 minutes. A kitchen timer comes handy if you don’t want to overcook your chicken. Then, rub the chicken with your sweet and tangy honey mustard sauce. Cook until the meat has a nice charred color and has cooked all the way through.
Serve on a plate and garnish with some chopped chives before digging in. You can do this grilled chicken recipe at home, especially with some sports events coming up. This is the perfect snack to enjoy while watching the game with your close friends and family.
Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1lb chicken breasts (or tenders)
- pinches of sea salt & pepper
- Sauce (makes enough for 3lb chicken):
- 1/2 cup yellow mustard
- 1/8 cup raw honey
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon low-sodium worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon turmeric (optional)
Fire up the grill (or your oven to 400F).
In a bowl, mix together the ingredients for the sauce.
Season chicken breast pieces or tenders with sea salt and pepper. If desired, not required, skewer the pieces with wooden kabob sticks.
Place the chicken on the grill and cook for about 10 to 12 minutes. Then, brush or rub the chicken with the mustard sauce and cook for another 8 to 10 minutes (or until the chicken) is completely cooked and the inside is white.
