Hi fit foodies! Here’s another dish I’m going to present to you that you can prepare at the beginning of the week — Spicy turkey chili!

It is similar to a recipe called chili con carne (meaning “chili with meat”), originating from southern Texas. This dish is frequently used in cooking competitions and is also served as another ingredient for other recipes such as in chili dog and in chili burger.

The spicy turkey chili recipe is very easy to make. Just season the ground turkey with seasonings  — paprika, garlic, onion powder, cumin, cayenne powder, and low sodium chili powders.

Then, cook the ground meat and slowly add the other ingredients — veggies, tomato paste, corn, and black beans. Boom! Turkey chilis ready to serve!

You can also put it in different containers, freeze it, and then defrost it a night before in the refrigerator. The next day, heat it in the microwave or transfer it to a baking dish and set it in the oven.

If you want to make this more or less spicier, you can adjust the combination of the number of seasonings you’ll put into the dish. You can also use ground beef, aside from turkey, to cook beef chili instead.

This spicy turkey is perfect to serve for lunches, dinner parties, game day, or even St. Patrick’s Day. It is also a good source of potassium, calcium, protein, and dietary fibers.
