Nothing is tastier and more power-dense than a good chocolate energy bar. But did you know that you can make them at home without too much effort? Heading to the store may not be the safest thing anymore, but that doesn’t mean you should be deprived of chocolate.

While granola bars can be great at times, they’re just no replacement for dark chocolate energy bars. If you’re ready to take this leap towards chocolatey goodness, start by buying three strong & kind bars.

You can use any flavor you like. Honey smoked BBQ is my personal favorite since it has the perfect mix of sweet and savory. You’ll also need a scoop and a half of protein powder, a tablespoon of almond milk, and a tablespoon of coconut oil.

Finally, get one and a quarter cup of dates, ⅓ cup of cocoa powder, and ⅓ cup of cacao nibs. That last one is optional and comes down to preference. Some of my friends add sea salt to bring the flavor out, but I don’t mind mine without.

Now that you have all your ingredients, you’re only thirty short minutes away from your energy bar. Sure, that’s not as quick as an instant pot dish but it’s still pretty fast considering how big the payoff will be.

Grab two strong & kind bars, then mix it with your protein powder, cocoa powder, and cacao nibs. Blend up everything and use a spatula to loosen it. Add your coconut oil, dates, and almond milk. You can exclude the oil if you want to reduce calories.

Empty the blender then massage the mixture by hand to get all the ingredients mixed evenly. Put your mix in a container, add the third strong & kind bar, then leave it in the freezer for half an hour before slicing up these little blocks of heaven.

Tada! That’s all it takes to get nutritious yet delicious energy bars at home. You can even sell these to your neighbors to make a quick buck. It may not be that lucrative, but just the idea of preparing chocolate bars every day is sure to warm anyone’s heart.
