FitMenCook App NOW Available

About the author

FitMenCook

My name is Kevin. My life changed when I realized that healthy living is truly a lifelong journey, mainly won by having a well-balanced diet and enjoying adequate exercise. By experimenting in the kitchen and openly sharing my meals, I learned that healthy eating is hardly boring and that by making a few adjustments, I could design a diet that could help me achieve my personal fitness goals. Our bodies are built in the kitchen and sculpted in the gym.

Four months in the making, the new Fit Men Cook is now available for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. If you’d like for us to develop it on Android, please show your support by joining our newsletter list here.

The launch day wildly exceeded our expectations. Thanks to the support by FitMenCook readers, we made it to the #4 in app in the entire App Store.

Top 4 in the App Store

Here’s a quick tour of what you’ll find inside the app:

The best of FitMenCook

There are four parts to our food philosophy:

  1. Food should be easy to prepare and affordable
  2. Food should be vibrant and tasty, never boring
  3. Preparing food ahead of time is important
  4. Following 1 to 3 helps you stick to your healthy eating goals

These four principles have gone into the FitMenCook app, which contains 121 of the best Fit Men Cook recipes.

Grocery shopping made easy

This is the feature everyone has been getting the most excited about. With a few taps you can add ingredients to your shopping list. The app will intelligently combine similar ingredients and organise everything by aisle to save you time on the next trip to the grocery store. You can also add any additional items you need to pickup.

Reach your fitness goals

Each recipe inside the app contains calorie and macronutrient breakdown. The app integrates with the Apple Health app so you can easily track your caloric intake and reach your fitness goals. You simply select how many servings of a recipe you’ve had and then you tap “Add to Apple Health app.”

Adjust the number of servings

Whether you’ve got the entire family around for dinner, or you are preparing extra meals for the week ahead,  you can adjust the number of servings for a recipe with the app.

Integration with Instagram

FitMenCook is all about the community. Once you’ve cooked a recipe you can tap to take a picture and share it on Instagram. You can also browse a unique hashtag for each recipe so you can see what other users have created.

Recipe videos show how easy it is

Some of us prefer reading recipe instructions and others prefer to watch the steps. The app accommodates for both and includes 60 recipe videos.

Grocery shopping with the Apple Watch

Load up the FitMenCook app on your Apple Watch and tap off items from your shopping list. The app will sync the list with your iPhone.

Switch unit measurements

More comfortable with cups than grams? You can easily switch measurements inside the app.
