Detox with Water after the Holidays
After eating pretty heavy over the holidays, I like to drink water throughout the day – WITH my other meals – to help with detoxifying the body.
- Lemon helps with digestion and boosts your immune system while cleansing and alkalizing the body.
- Mint helps with upset stomachs, digestion and of course adds a freshness without adding sweetener or sugars.
- Cucumbers help with rehydration, have anti-inflammatory properties and help rid the body of ammonia, which is a by-product of the proteins our bodies burn for energy.
Detox with Water after the Holidays
- ~ 2/3 cucumber
- 1 lemon
- 3 mint sprigs
I will reuse the fruit several times/day and discard after 24 hours. Let the water sit for about 20 minutes before drinking.
