Chocolate Protein Pancakes Recipe using Casein

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup oat flour
    • Process oats in a blender to make this
  • 1 whole egg
  • 1 scoop Transparent Labs chocolate casein protein
    • Transparent Labs grass-fed whey protein
    • You can use whey but casein is recommended
  • 1/2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
Optional
  • 1/2 tablespoon cacao powder
    • dark chocolate powder
    • Included in macronutrient calculation (adds 30 cal)
  • 1/2 tablespoon unsweetened cacao nibs
    • Included in macronutrient calculation (adds 40 cal)

Steps

Step 1

If you do not have oat flour, add oats to a blender and process until fine like flour.

Step 2

Add all of the ingredients to a bowl and mix until the battery is somewhat chunky AND somewhat runny.

Step 3

Set a nonstick skillet on medium heat.  Once hot lightly spray with olive oil or avocado oil.  To keep the size of the pancakes uniform, I like to use an ice cream scoop.  Add the batter to the skillet, halfway cover and cook for about 2 – 3 minutes per side.

 

Step 4

Enjoy with your favorite syrup, low-calorie or full-flavored.
