Sautéed Cinnamon Apples

Ingredients

Easy Gluten Free Pumpkin Waffles with Cinnamon Apples
Ingredients for 6 servings

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons (vegan) butter
  • 3 gala apples, sliced
  • juice from 2 large oranges
  • 2 tablespoons coconut sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
Steps

Set a carbon steel skillet on medium high heat.  Once hot, add butter and once it melts, add the rest of the ingredients.  Stir, REDUCE the heat to low-medium and bring to a gentle, light simmer.

Continue cooking until the apples soften and they become caramelized, about 8 – 10  minutes.  If needed, add tablespoons of water OR more fresh orange juice if it becomes too sticky.  The sauce should thicken as it cools.
