Preworkout meal for the “Gym Rat” & “Gym Bunny”: Anabolic Shrimp Wheat Berry “Waldorf” Bowl. This is one of my favorite things to eat before a workout - gives incredible energy and stamina.
Approx macros: 46g protein, 55g carbs, 16g fat (mostly from pepitas)
Ingredients: 5oz grilled shrimp, 2/3 cup wheat berry, 1/8 cup pepitas (pumpkin seeds), 1 heaping tablespoon Greek yogurt, celery, dash of honey, dried orange cranberries (or raisins).
Steps: (1) Cook and season shrimp separately while cooking wheat berry. (2) When the shrimp is nearly finished, add the wheat berry & celery & cranberries to the skillet. (3) In a bowl place a heaping tablespoon of Greek yogurt at the bottom. (4) Pour contents of skillet in the bowl. (5) Sprinkle with pumpkin seeds and SPLASH of honey. (6) Enjoy and then go smash your workout!
