Detox with Water after the Holidays

About the author

FitMenCook

My name is Kevin. My life changed when I realized that healthy living is truly a lifelong journey, mainly won by having a well-balanced diet and enjoying adequate exercise. By experimenting in the kitchen and openly sharing my meals, I learned that healthy eating is hardly boring and that by making a few adjustments, I could design a diet that could help me achieve my personal fitness goals. Our bodies are built in the kitchen and sculpted in the gym.

Total Time 20 min
After eating pretty heavy over the holidays, I like to drink water throughout the day – WITH my other meals – to help with detoxifying the body.
I have posted about infused waters before.  They are a great way to pump your body with vitamins and minerals, while also helping with detox.
  • Lemon helps with digestion and boosts your immune system while cleansing and alkalizing the body.
  • Mint helps with upset stomachs, digestion and of course adds a freshness without adding sweetener or sugars.
  • Cucumbers help with rehydration, have anti-inflammatory properties and help rid the body of ammonia, which is a by-product of the proteins our bodies burn for energy.

Detox with Water after the Holidays

Ingredients
In a 33 oz bottle, I used…
  • ~ 2/3 cucumber
  • 1 lemon
  • 3 mint sprigs
Steps

I will reuse the fruit several times/day and discard after 24 hours.  Let the water sit for about 20 minutes before drinking.
